Food Translation Services & Beverage Translation Services
Appetising beverage & food translation…
… needs appetising translation.
Beverage & food translation services take both imagination and knowledge – because facepacks, wet sticks and marbling demand very different translation here!
But beverage and food translation also takes passion – a good food translation specialist – like ours – loves good food, and that shines through in their text. Just to give you a taste, we’ve delivered over 1,000 food & beverage translation projects to date, receiving great feedback. And with BS EN ISO 17100 accreditation, you can be sure we’ll use only the finest ingredients.
“Thanks once again you guys are great to work with.”
– Global confectionery company
Tastier food & beverage translation services
Our MD acquired an appetite for beverage and food translation during her 7 years sourcing produce from all over Europe for Covent Garden.
Like her, we’re (almost) all keen cooks here and we know how unappetising most food translation is. We also know that to tickle buyers’ tastebuds, a wine or dish must excite.
Healthier translation
We’re the healthy alternative to fatty junk food translation services, with over 1000 multilingual projects delivered to food and beverage clients in Spanish, French and German; Polish, Dutch, Russian and more, including for major Wine trade shows in Hong Kong and Paris.
Space… the final frontier
“We’ve done this great new Yummigobs pack, look – can you add the translations?”
“Er – where? There’s no space?”
“Yeah there is – we left you half a centimetre in that corner, look…”
Sounds daft? You’d be surprised. It’s often forgotten that 1) most languages are longer than English, and 2) 4-language content takes 4X the space. It isn’t rocket science – but if you’re designing a food pack for translation, please remember to leave s-p-a-c-e for the translation!
Convenience food translation
Our multilingual typesetting provides fully proof-read press-ready multilingual packaging translation and we can also assist with layout aspects.
For you, that means it’s more convenient, more accurate, and more appetising.
Or if you prefer home-cooked, we can proofread your team’s own translation and/or typesetting. Because good food translation should be all about flavour, wherever it’s cooked-up.
Sometimes, translation can be a piece of cake…
Or sometimes, a pack of pet food. Whichever, or whatever, you’re providing, we’ll make sure the translation is just as tasty as the original!
Food (translation) for thought…
The UK Food Standards Agency has a very informative website, containing much of what you need to know to sell in the UK. If you’re looking to export to the EU however you’ll need to be familiar with – for starters – the EU’s Regulation 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers. Other countries will often have their own, sometimes challenging, requirements, and adhering to these is essential to avoid serious problems.
It’s important to stress that these requirements generally mean that simply translating your existing packaging will often be insufficient. Food labelling is a highly complex field and most exporters will opt to use a specialist consultancy to ensure they meet legislation – for example, some of our own clients work with Ashbury Global who have considerable expertise in food product and labelling compliance.
Spare a thought for our furry (or feathered, or scaly) friends!
Our pets deserve to eat good stuff too!
We’re proud to have been helping to look after our much-loved friends for over 20 years, providing petconomy translation services to food, toy, and veterinary product manufacturers all over the UK.
Regulatory control on pet food is every bit as strict as on human food, and this highly informative site is full of information to help you navigate this complex area.
We can’t help you with the regulations, but we’ve a wealth of experience in handling content for the sector in a wide range of languages.
Whether like our friend here you want things just in black and white, or are looking to typeset content into complex InDesign or Quark layouts, we’re perfectly placed to help – and with most of our office being keen pet owners too, you’re guaranteed an enthusiastic language partner!
Full Corporate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, we’re also an accredited Member of the Association of Translation Companies, and are ISO 17100 and ISO 18841 accredited. You’re in safe hands.
