Preston-based Lifeline Language Services has been praised by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on North Korea for its conference interpretation services at a conference addressing violence against women and girls in the country.

conference interpretation at North Korea VAWG The conference held on Monday 22nd February 2016 at the Houses of Parliament in London was designed, organised, and sponsored by Human Atlas.  The conference assembled exiled North Koreans and global experts in gender, women’s and girls’ rights, and human rights for a discussion and garnered international media coverage in print, televisionradio, and online.

Lifeline was commissioned to provide conference interpretation services based on its proven experience with similar events including a major business matchmaking event organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and Bank of China in late 2015.

With 12 staff based at offices in Preston city centre, Lifeline maintains a team of approximately 3,500 freelance linguists worldwide covering over 150 languages, to provide a full range of language services including translation, face-to-face and conference interpretation, voiceover and subtitling.
